Have you ever heard the saying, “Happy wife, happy life,” ? Me too. But it’s usually used in relation to a significant other *making* said wife happy.
But what about you? How do you make yourself happy? Do you ever feel like you’re fighting a losing battle? Me too.
Being a mom means catering to everyone else’s needs.
Trying to meet the expectations of others can really drag you down. Whatsmom is my gift to you. It is a labor of love dedicated to moms and from all walks of life.
But you don’t have to be a mom. A lot of my content will be geared toward family life and how to cope. But it will all be packed with helpful self-help tips that anyone can benefit from.
One of the biggest challenges of being a mom is having a social life. Momming requires undivided attention and constant devotion. Alas, simply finding others like you can make all the difference.
Another challenge that everyone faces is self-love and care. We all have insecurities. I have struggled with my self esteem my whole life, and have picked up some amazing advice along the way. I am here to share that advice with you.
Lastly, I’m a huge advocate of mental health. The importance of this topic has been gaining more steam in the last few years, but there are still a lot of people out there who feel lost and alone. I have found mom blogs, and I have found mental health blogs, but I have yet to find one that really incorporates the two.
I have mental health issues of my own. I was diagnosed with Bipolar and ADHD when I was 7 years old. I had a rough childhood and struggled with addiction for many years.
Having my son turned my life around, but I still struggle to give him the mom I think he deserves.
The web is full of information about anything you can think of. Want a recipe? There’s a site for that. Crafting projects for the kids? There’s a site for that. Need to get in a routine? There’s a site for that too. As far as putting it all together, this is the site for that.
This is the site that understands you when you’re home alone, on the couch, fighting to pull yourself up. The site that knows who you really are and what you struggle with. It’s real. And I’m here to share information to help you overcome your biggest obstacles.
I live in the Midwest, in a small(ish) metro area of Michigan. A huge problem around here is that there is a lack of resources for people who want help. I will be adding resources as I build the site. These will be there to supplement the knowledge I share in order to help you get the support you need. I will eventually have worksheets, courses and challenges for you. I’m blogging 100% off my phone as I have no laptop right now, so it’s hard to make these things. But as soon as I have the chance to hop on a computer, you better believe I’ll be making that stuff!
My posts will incorporate exercises and examples that will help you take action to find out how to truly find joy and balance in your life.
Who doesn’t love inspiration? There are tons of resources on the web about motivation, self care and mental health. Sometimes it ties together, sometimes you have to click through all sorts of places before you find that one thing you’ve been looking for. My goal is to give you that here. I want you to spend your time working on you, not browsing the web for answers.
I look forward to embarking on this journey with you! If you want to see anything in particular on the site feel free to let me know. I hope to grow and learn together through the years and I hope you will join me.
